Radiation Safety Committee

The Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposed uses of radiation and radioisotopes and for advising and guiding Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) in carrying out the campus radiation safety program.

The RSC is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all uses of radioactive material and/or radiation-producing machines are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with the Federal and State of California regulations and the conditions of the license.

  • Ensuring that all individuals who work with or near radioactive materials or radiation-producing machines have sufficient training and experience to enable them to perform their duties safely and in accordance with Federal and State of California regulations and the conditions of the license.

  • Periodic review of the Radiation Safety Manual and campus policies regarding radiation safety.
